At The Art of Photography you’ll experience having a fun, relaxed Portrait Session that is all about YOU! Good lighting, flattering posing, dynamic compositions… you can have it all.
We have over 27 different outdoor looks and take a variety of poses, from head shots to full length, to capture your many moods and styles. Then you can choose some of our creative enhancement techniques: change to b&w or sepia, do spot coloring or our popular half & half or have us apply an edge to compliment your image (great for wallets).
And of course, every image you choose will be totally retouched for facial blemishes and then print finished for a beautiful Portrait.

Just be sure to check with your school for your cutoff dates for annuals. We need 3 weeks to get you photographed, have you choose your favorite pose and then do the retouching before we send it to the school for you.
We do a full Portrait session of various poses and outfits (25-30 images) at the time of your session. This way you take advantage of the best weather Bellingham has all year! If you get too busy to return in the spring, no worries...but
We also offer a Spring Fling Session for more portraits later in May, a Buddy Session for you and all your pals and an “On Location” session if you want to go off site.
Good Clothing Choices
Bring 4-5 outfits (see below for ideas) and a “personal” prop of two, such as your dog or your horse (yes, we have room!), musical instruments, flowers, sports equipment or your car/motorcycle.
- At least one Solid long-sleeve top (this is most flattering for closeups)
- Prom dress or tuxedo
- Jeans and/or overalls and t-shirt
- Sports Uniform/Cheerleading outfit
- Casually-dressy outfits like sweater and khakis or sundresses/skirts
- Jean jacket, leather jacket or letterman jacket
- Hats, scarves
- Cotton shirts, polo shirts
- Matching socks and shoes to your clothing

When do I Order my Portraits?
Your images will be posted on our online viewing site within a few days of your Session. You will be given a pass code to access your images and can show them to your Family and Friends. (more)
You get special Package rates if you order within 2 weeks. You need an appointment to order and all images are viewed by projection during your order session. Finished Portrait orders take about 3-5 weeks to complete.
We offer a variety of options for display of your Portraits. Finished Wall Portraits enhance the décor of your home and are a wonderful way to stay close to your “Graduate” after they venture off into the world. We include Framing on all Portraits 11x14 and larger.
Bound books provide a unique way to display the entire Senior Portrait portfolio or you can choose tabletop folios, framed and matted image collections and standard 8x10 or 5x7 prints ready to frame...And of course, every image you choose will be totally retouched.
